Are Panic Attacks Dangerous?
They feel terrifying, with a pounding heart, shortness of breath and a sense of losing control, but they are not physically dangerous and they do pass. You don't have to keep living with them, though. The right care can make them far less frequent and less frightening.
Panic Attack or Heart Attack?
The symptoms overlap a great deal, which is why panic attacks are so frightening and send many people to the ER. If it's your first episode or anything feels unusual, get checked for a physical cause first. Then a psychiatric evaluation can identify the panic pattern and address what's driving it.
Panic Attacks Out of Nowhere?
Panic can strike without an obvious trigger because the brain's fear response fires when there's no real danger. It isn't a sign of weakness or something you're doing wrong. A comprehensive evaluation looks at what may be contributing so we can build a plan that fits you.
Referral for Panic Attacks?
No. You can reach out to us directly to schedule your evaluation and get started.
Can I Get Help by Video?
