What Counts as a Mood Disorder?
Mood disorders include major depression, persistent depressive disorder, bipolar disorder, cyclothymia and other conditions that cause lasting disruptions in mood, well beyond ordinary ups and downs.
Depression or Bipolar Disorder?
Depression centers on persistent low mood and loss of interest, while bipolar disorder also brings periods of unusually elevated or irritable energy. Telling them apart matters because they're managed differently, and we look at it carefully during your evaluation.
Which Mood Disorder Do I Have?
A comprehensive psychiatric evaluation reviews your symptoms, personal and family history, and how you're functioning day to day.
Is Medication the Only Way?
Not necessarily. Care is individualized. Medication management is often part of the plan, along with lifestyle guidance and regular follow-ups. We talk through the right combination together at your evaluation.
Seen for a Mood Disorder Online?
Yes. We see patients in our Miami office in the Kendall / The Hammocks area and through secure telepsychiatry anywhere in Florida, whichever is easier for you.
Is Care Available in Spanish?
Yes. Your evaluation, follow-ups and every treatment conversation can happen in Spanish or English, whichever feels most comfortable.
