Depression Treatment in Miami

Depression is more than feeling sad — it's a medical condition that affects how you think, feel, and function. At Advance Psychiatry & Wellness, we provide compassionate, evidence-based depression treatment in English and Spanish, in our Miami office or via secure telepsychiatry across Florida.

Recognizing Depression

Depression can look different for everyone. Some people experience persistent sadness, while others feel numb, irritable, or simply unable to enjoy things they once loved. Depression is not a character flaw — it's a treatable condition.

How We Treat Depression

There is no one-size-fits-all approach to depression. After a comprehensive evaluation, we develop a treatment plan tailored to your symptoms, medical history, and personal goals.

Treatment may include:

Telepsychiatry

All depression treatment is available via secure, HIPAA-compliant video visits from anywhere in Florida. When you're struggling with low energy and motivation, not having to leave home can make it easier to stay consistent with care.

What to Expect

Your first visit is a comprehensive psychiatric evaluation lasting 45–60 minutes. We'll review your symptoms, history, and what matters most to you. You'll leave with a clear understanding of your diagnosis and a plan for next steps.

We accept most major insurance plans and offer self-pay options. No referral is needed to schedule.

Frequently Asked Questions

It can be hard to tell on your own, and you don't need to have it figured out before reaching out. At your evaluation we'll talk through what you've been feeling and make sense of it together.

It starts with a comprehensive psychiatric evaluation: an unhurried conversation about your symptoms, history, and what you're hoping for. From there we build an individualized plan together.

Care is tailored to you. Medication management is one part, and we take a collaborative, whole-person approach — we can also help connect you with a therapist when that would support your care.

Most antidepressants take 2–6 weeks to reach full effect. You may notice some improvement sooner. We monitor closely during this period and adjust as needed.

Depression can recur, especially if treatment is stopped too early. We work with you on a long-term plan that may include maintenance treatment and monitoring.

Both work well. We see patients in person in Miami and offer secure telepsychiatry across Florida, in English or Spanish — and no referral is needed to get started.
