PTSD Treatment in Miami
Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) can develop after experiencing or witnessing a traumatic event. At Advance Psychiatry & Wellness, we provide compassionate, bilingual PTSD care in English and Spanish — in our Miami office or via secure telepsychiatry across Florida.
Recognizing PTSD
PTSD affects people differently. Symptoms may appear weeks, months, or even years after the traumatic event. It is not a sign of weakness — it is a treatable condition.
Common symptoms include:
- Intrusive memories, flashbacks, or nightmares
- Avoiding places, people, or situations that trigger memories
- Feeling emotionally numb or detached from others
- Being easily startled or constantly on edge
- Difficulty sleeping or concentrating
- Irritability, anger outbursts, or mood changes
- Negative changes in thoughts or beliefs about yourself or others
How We Treat PTSD
We take a careful, individualized approach to PTSD treatment. After a comprehensive evaluation, we work with you to build a plan that addresses your specific symptoms and goals.
Treatment may include:
- Medication management: Targeted medications to reduce anxiety, improve sleep, and stabilize mood
- Therapeutic strategies: Evidence-based approaches to process trauma and reduce symptom intensity
- Ongoing monitoring: Regular follow-ups to adjust your plan as you progress
- Collaborative care: Coordination with your therapist or other providers when appropriate
