Grief & Loss Treatment in Miami
Grief is a natural response to loss, but when it becomes prolonged or overwhelming, professional support can help. At Advance Psychiatry & Wellness, we provide bilingual grief support in English and Spanish — in our Miami office or via secure telepsychiatry across Florida.
When Grief Needs Support
There is no "right" timeline for grief. But when grief significantly interferes with your ability to function, it may be time to seek professional help.
Common symptoms include:
- Intense sadness that does not ease over time
- Difficulty accepting the loss months or years later
- Withdrawal from daily life, work, or relationships
- Persistent feelings of guilt or anger related to the loss
- Difficulty finding meaning or purpose
- Sleep disturbances or appetite changes
- Feeling emotionally numb or detached
How We Support Grief
We provide a respectful, supportive space to process grief while addressing any accompanying symptoms like depression, anxiety, or insomnia.
Treatment may include:
- Psychiatric evaluation: Assessing whether grief has developed into a clinical condition like depression
- Medication support: Targeted medication when grief is accompanied by significant depression, anxiety, or sleep disruption
- Therapeutic coordination: Working with grief counselors and therapists for comprehensive support
- Ongoing care: Regular follow-ups as you navigate the grieving process
